Greystar has commenced the construction of its first apartment development, called Ophelia, in Pittsburgh, US.
The community, which is in partnership with ECHO Realty, will feature 231 rental homes, with 35 units allocated for the city’s affordable housing scheme.
Greystar Development senior director George Hayward said: “Greystar is excited to make its entry into Pittsburgh in partnership with ECHO Realty.
“Together we are transforming a legacy retail strip centre into a unique mixed-use project, signifying the dramatic evolution of the East Liberty and Shadyside neighbourhoods. We expect this to be the first of many Greystar development projects in the city.”
Ophelia’s residential options will range from studios to two-bedroom apartments.
The interior design intends to pay homage to the local Victorian architecture while infusing modern elements reminiscent of the Gilded Age.
