Veidekke Bygg Møre og Romsdal district manager Stig Mork said: “Implementing future-oriented construction projects with clear environmental ambitions for customers who dare to think along new lines is something we greatly appreciate.
“This will be one of the first offices in the country with a low carbon concrete plus façade from our subsidiary Veidekke Prefab, which significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to using ordinary concrete.
“We appreciate the commission and are already looking forward to moving in when it is completed.”
The site’s location at Holssletta in Ålesund is strategically chosen for its proximity to the Moa traffic terminal, ensuring easy access to various transportation options.
The project’s completion is anticipated for the summer of 2026.
Once constructed, Veidekke will become a tenant in the new building.
Ulsmo Eiendom commercial buildings head Nils Peter Skeide said: “A quarter of the energy demand for the new building at Holssletta will be covered by solar panels on the roof. In addition, the landmark building next to the E39 road will have energy label A, and become one of Norway’s two first-ever Nordic Ecolabelled office buildings.
“This means very strict requirements to quality, environmental impact and the construction process.”
Earlier this month, Veidekke secured a contract to execute the 246 apartments residential project, Mariakvartalet, in Norway.
