Peab, a Nordic community builder, has secured a project to renovate 146 apartments in Tromsø, Norway, by Rundvannet Borettslag.

The contract, valued at Nkr109m ($10.16m), encompasses renovations across ten blocks, including facade replacements, new doors and windows, upgraded insulation, and expanded balconies.

The apartments were completed in 1980 and are situated near a range of nurseries, a shop, a swimming pool, a primary school, and a sports hall.

The project will be executed while residents remain in their apartments.

Emphasis will be placed on maintaining high standards of health, environmental considerations, and safety to ensure smooth progress.

Scheduled to commence this month and conclude by August 2026, this project is a traditional contract and will be order-registered in the third quarter of 2024.

Peab district manager Kjell Christoffersen said: “This project, which means a great deal to us, is extensive and complex regarding planning, logistics and safety throughout construction. We look forward to contributing to a major upgrade of the entire housing cooperative Rundvannet.”

Last month, Peab secured a Skr299m contract to renovate Stockholm’s North Danvik Bridge for Storstockholms Lokaltrafik and the City of Stockholm’s Transport Department.

Additionally, the same month, the company was awarded the contract to construct Gothenburg’s new station building, which will serve as the main entrance to the upcoming Centralstaden city district.
