GLP has started work on building a new warehouse, spanning 66,000m², at the Wrocław V Logistics Centre in Magnice, Poland.

The warehouse will feature measures to minimise carbon emissions such as thermal insulation, smart metering systems for real-time energy monitoring, and energy-efficient LED lighting.

It will be designed to accommodate a variety of uses, including secure high stacking, production line installation, and warehouse automation, and have a floor load capacity of up to ten tons per square metre.

The facility will offer tenants access to an enhanced power supply, and its roof structure will be optimised for natural light with a 12.5% glazed area.

The building aims to achieve a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) Outstanding certification.

It will also include Grade A office space and relaxation zones with gazebos, benches, and greenery, alongside parking and facilities for heavy goods vehicle drivers.

Located on the S8 expressway, the GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre offers access to public transportation links to Wrocław and surrounding suburban areas.

Bremer has been selected as the general contractor for the final phase of construction, which is scheduled for completion by the beginning of 2025.

GLP business development manager Michał Szczepaniak said: “The success of our previously completed warehouses at GLP Wrocław V underscores the suitability of this location from both a business and employee standpoint.

“With our final building in the project, we are raising the bar in technical excellence to deliver one of the highest specification logistics facilities in Poland. The location and build quality are expected to drive interest from a wide range of potential tenants from across the logistics and manufacturing sectors.”

In February this year, GLP commenced earthworks at its Landriano site, in the Italian province of Pavia, and laid the first pillar of its Grade A warehouse facility.
