Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed to two new Pagabo frameworks in the UK, which are designed to facilitate the decarbonisation of public estates.

The combined value of these frameworks is £3.2bn ($3.98bn) and will run for the next four years.

The first of the two frameworks, the £1.6bn Healthcare Decarbonisation Framework, has been recently recognised as a National Health Service Accredited Framework Host.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is the healthcare sector-specialist contracting authority overseeing this framework.

Suppliers on the framework, including Morgan Sindall, will offer comprehensive business solutions for clients.

These solutions encompass retrofit assessments, cost estimations, and the coordination of supply chain partners to deliver projects, acting as a single point of contact.

The second framework, named the Decarbonisation Solutions Framework, is hosted by Kingston upon Hull City Council and is accessible to clients across various sectors.

This framework’s projects will concentrate on reducing operational carbon emissions and enhancing energy performance in both domestic and non-domestic estates.

These estates span across education, commercial, and leisure facilities.

In both frameworks, Morgan Sindall has secured positions in Lots 2, which ranges from £1m to £5m; Lot 3, ranging between £5m and £15m; and Lot 4, which will cover projects worth more than £15m.

The scope of projects will include the installation of specialist heating, cooling, and ventilation systems and renewable energy sources.

It will also involve fabric upgrades, energy-saving lighting, and the replacement of inefficient glazing.

Morgan Sindall Construction framework director Rob Hall said: “On the many projects we have been appointed to and delivered through Pagabo’s frameworks in recent years, decarbonisation and the deployment of green technology has always been a focus.

“It’s therefore fantastic news that we have won places on these two new frameworks specifically designed for decarbonising public estates.”

Morgan Sindall’s collaboration with Pagabo since 2015 has involved the delivery of projects through its Intelligent Solutions approach.

This approach integrates digital and platform design capabilities with modern construction methods and innovative carbon reduction tools.

By advocating a data-driven approach, the dedication to challenging conventional construction methods and technologies is said to have fostered collaborative efforts within these companies.

Together, they address industry-wide issues such as talent acquisition and skill development, for the construction sector’s future.

This comes just after Morgan Sindall Construction’s London business commenced refurbishment and extension works at the University of Westminster’s 29 Marylebone Road site earlier this week.
