Construction has begun on a £19.6m ($24.4m) supported living development in Hampton, England, UK.

A ground-breaking ceremony was held at Silver Hill, marking the commencement of the development.

The project will comprise 80 new apartments.

Deeley Construction is responsible for constructing these homes for Anchor, a non-profit specialist housing provider.

This marks the first of two projects Deeley is undertaking in collaboration with Anchor, with the second project comprising 137 independent living apartments in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.

Anchor Development Delivery manager Alison Plaxton said: “With such high demand for homes for those in later life, this development is a fantastic opportunity for us to provide a new community for local residents where they can discover a wider range of lifestyle options.”

The latest four-storey scheme being delivered through the Homes England framework will offer a mix of 32 one-bedroom and 48 two-bedroom apartments.

It will include a lounge, health and wellness suites, guest accommodation, and ample parking with 44 electric vehicle charging points.

Deeley managing director Martin Gallagher said: “The start of work at the scheme in Peterborough is a major milestone for our partnership with Anchor. The development is set to create vital new affordable homes for hundreds of older people in Hampton and bring significant positive benefits to the local community.

“We have great experience in delivering developments of this type which create lasting value for communities and it’s fantastic to see our team now on site and work underway.”

Construction is expected to be completed by late 2025, with first resident move-ins forecast for December 2025.
